Daily Psalm 123  NLT
A song for the ascent to Jerusalem.

1 I lift my eyes to you, O God, enthroned in heaven.
2 We look to the LORD our God for his mercy, just as servants keep their eyes on their master, as a slave girl watches her mistress for the slightest signal.

3 Have mercy on us, LORD, have mercy, for we have had our fill of contempt.

4 We have had our fill of the scoffing of the proud and the contempt of the arrogant.

I lift my eyes to You, O God!
So often when we are "fed up" with the contempt of others, who think they are more spiritual, more successful, more popular, more talented, etc., we gripe about them, and sometimes even blame God.

I love the gentle attitude of the worshipers in this Psalm. Instead of getting mad or getting even, they
"keep looking"  to God for His mercies, carefully watching for His care.

Take Your disappointments to God today and carefully watch for His sure mercies!
Lord, I bring before You the cares that I have about people that have been judgmental or unkind to me.
I lift my eyes to You and rest in Your mercy toward me!
