I've heard it said that knowledge is when you know enough to realize how little you know. This psalmist seems to have this kind of wisdom and maturity. It's great when we humble ourselves to the point that we don't always have to be right.
We can quiet ourselves, keeping a calm head, without flying off the handle when we don't get what we want.
Put your hope in the Lord and let Him help you calm your soul.
A Song of Ascents. Of David.
1 LORD, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.
2 Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, Like a weaned child with his mother; Like a weaned child [is] my soul within me.
3 O Israel, hope in the LORD From this time forth and forever.
Lord, give me that peace that passes all understanding.
Help me to be still and know that you are God.
